In the course of our previous work, we were moved by our visit to a senior citizen who shared with us her harrowing experience of having a fall in the washroom. Unable to move or call for help, she was forced to wait three days for aid to arrive. During this time, she drank from the toilet bowl to sustain herself. We left her home with a firm conviction that something like this should never happen again, to anyone.
Determined to find a solution, in 2013 we created a research and development team consisting of a researcher, a software engineer, an electrical engineer and an industrial designer from the Agency of Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR). Thus, SoundEye was born.
Our research and development efforts have since won several awards across Asia.
SoundEye received a generous investment from NUS Enterprise and was honoured to be incubated by ASTART Central.
SoundEye established itself as a social enterprise. Our products have successfully assisted caregivers and healthcare workers in providing care and support to the elderly.
